Challenge

The Housing Authority of the City of Fort Myers was seeking a one-day leadership development engagement for employees and coaches supporting the Jobs Plus Program.  The purpose of the workshop was to build stronger leaders to drive people and organization results, while also aligning the culture of the organization.

Solution

Stewart Leadership facilitated an interactive workshop focused on the LEAD NOW! Model and a deep dive on 4 critical dimensions – one from each of the quadrants:  Effective Communication, Decision Making, Coaching and Inspiring Commitment.  The goals of the session were centered around self-discovery, peer learning, and application of content strategies as the participants go forth with their leadership initiatives.  

The individual development included the LEAD NOW! Self-Assessment coupled with book series and action planning guide.  Each participant had their own focus areas of development and came together as a team to learn common concepts and strategies that could be applied immediately. 

Results

The participants concluded the experience with actionable strategies, tools and resources to put together an individual action plan to focus on their individual leadership journey.  In addition, the experience served as a team building exercise, as the participants came together to discuss and share learnings and solve problems in which they similarly face.  Joshua McKie, Director of Community Support Services, has summed up the development received as “An incredible training that far exceeded the expectations of the agency.
