Mary Leaphart

Executive Consultant & Coach

Mary Leaphart is a seasoned professional development consultant and trainer with deep expertise helping organizations develop employees and achieve business goals. Mary’s greatest passion is helping others to grow and develop in their own leadership journey.

Through her participant-centered facilitation, leaders at all levels engage in interactive activities that foster unity and a sense of shared vision, allowing participants to find joy in accomplishing meaningful work. She works with a variety of organizations including non-profits, private organizations, government agencies, and educational facilities.

Mary started her journey in the classroom, where she spent 10 years as a middle and high school math teacher. Disappointed with the standard curriculum, she discovered a passion for creating learning experiences that engage and transform the learner. Since leaving the classroom, she has moved on to roles that allow her to promote that same passion for learning around the world.

She has worked within organizations in a variety of capacities, from content development to strategic advising to training and facilitation. With over 20 years of experience in learning and development, Mary successfully leads learning and development projects from start to finish, through all stages of creation and implementation.

Mary completed the ATD Master Trainer Program in 2019. This program is a unique assessment-based offering that covers the entire process of delivering training, including assessment, preparation, creating a positive learning environment, facilitating learning, and evaluating learning. Grounded in theory and focused on practice and application, this program challenged her to grow as a professional and revolutionized her work as a trainer.

When not working with clients, Mary enjoys singing at local performance venues and exploring her neighborhood walking trails. She also spends time volunteering at the local animal shelter and at TAPS, an organization that supports individuals who have lost a loved one in the military. Most weekends, you can find her at one of the magnificent theatres in the DC area enjoying a new musical or play.
