Results

The program strengthened manager effectiveness, scaled leadership skills across teams, and embedded development into growth strategy.

The Challenge:

Building Leadership from the Inside Out

By late 2021, AccountingDepartment.com (ADC) was clearly on the rise. Founded in 2004, the firm had grown to nearly 200 employees and supported a thriving client base. The energy was palpable — but so was the strain.

Managers who once felt confident in smaller teams were now navigating increased complexity, higher expectations, and expanded responsibilities. The leadership team recognized a defining truth: growth doesn’t just require more people; it requires stronger leaders. Without intentional investment in manager development, the organization risked hitting a ceiling.

The Solution:

A Leadership Development Journey

To meet the moment, ADC partnered with Stewart Leadership to design a comprehensive, 12-month leadership development experience built for practical application and long-term impact.

The program focused on strengthening essential leadership skills — including coaching, delegation, conflict management, problem-solving, and communication — while reinforcing accountability and shared learning. Monthly workshops and group coaching sessions created peer connection, while individual development was supported through the LEAD NOW!® Self-Assessment and action planning.

Rather than treating leadership development as a one-time event, the program emphasized sustained growth, reflection, and real-world application leaders could immediately bring back to their teams.

Growing Leaders as You Grow the Business

Sustainable growth happens when leadership development keeps pace with organizational ambition.

At Stewart Leadership, we help organizations build leadership capability that scales, strengthening managers today while preparing leaders for what’s next.

Results:

Culture in Action

The investment delivered meaningful results. More than 50 of ADC’s leaders have completed the program, strengthening leadership capability across the organization.

Leadership behaviors extended beyond the cohort through the launch of a quarterly “Learning Hour” focused on customer conversations, ensuring leadership development reached the broader workforce. Most importantly, leadership development became embedded in ADC’s growth strategy, enabling the firm to scale without losing momentum or culture.

As Co-Founders Dennis Najjar, CPA, and Bill Gerber shared, the experience was “instrumental in our pursuit of the next levels of company advancement.”
