ASRC Federal recognized that the unity of their workforce combined with a low level of internal development was impacting their business growth and market share. They needed to train back-up successors and simultaneously prepare for imminent growth. With the goal of investing in the development of their future leaders while creating robust succession plans, the CEO knew that a customized solution was required. ASRC Federal asked Stewart Leadership to develop a program that would create a clear succession plan and save the organization from poor future performance affecting current and future contracts, business growth, and morale.

Stewart Leadership’s tailored solution was to implement a talent development and succession planning program customized to the company starting with multiple interviews with the executive team. The talent development and succession planning solution included a rigorous 12-month program for a selected group of 25 top performers, comprised of 2-3 day training and coaching sessions quarterly as well as seven separate one-on-one coaching sessions throughout the year. The LEAD NOW! Self and 360 Assessments, Individual Action Planning Workbooks, as well as the Stewart Leadership Book series and Coaching Cards were used in the integrated training and coaching approach.
The talent development program using Stewart Leadership’s LEAD NOW! Model is now in its second consecutive year; taking over 50 of the company’s top leaders through the program. The results have been incredibly strong! There is currently a 97% retention rate (as opposed to the industry expected average of roughly 84% retention of executives) of those that complete the program. In addition, over 50% of the graduates are promoted within the year following the program.
